Pianist and composer Sue Kim is born in Korea and moved to Orange County, CA when she was 15. She began studying piano at age of 4. She took classical piano lessons and regularly played in local churches and pop gigs. She continued to study classical piano with Jinah Lee and study composition when she moved to Binghamton University. At age 23, she realized that her true passion is being a jazz musician, so she decided to move to New York City. In 2017, she started Master’s program at NYU and she has been studying with Kevin Hays, Alan Broadbent, Drew Gress, Ari Hoenig, Alex Sipiagin and Glenn Zaleski. She has shared stage with Alan Ferber and Mike Richmond.
