Pianist and composer Sue Kim is born in Korea and moved to Orange County, CA when she was 15. She began studying piano at age of 4. She took classical piano lessons and regularly played at local churches and started to play with singer-songwriters. She continued to study classical piano and study composition when she moved to SUNY-Binghamton. At age 23, she realized that her true passion is being a jazz musician, so she decided to move to New York City. In 2017, she started Master’s program in Jazz at NYU and Kevin Hays and Alan Broadbent have been her mentors. She has shared stage with Alan Ferber, Alex Sipiagin and Mike Richmond.
